Our Story

Built by People Who Lived the Problem

Kveldo didn't start with a business plan. It started with frustration.

The founders spent years inside accounting firms — as staff, as consultants, as software builders — watching talented CPAs and bookkeepers spend their best hours doing the one thing they didn't go to school for: chasing clients for documents.

They watched firms spend 6 weeks setting up platforms that didn't fit the way they worked. They watched firms pay for tool after tool — module stacked on module — until the bill hit $1,000/month for 10 people. They watched clients ignore portals, email SSNs, and call the front desk because they forgot their login.

So they built Kveldo — the tool they wished existed. A single platform, built specifically for accounting firms, with a client portal clients actually use, an AI that reads your intake forms, a WIP board that fits your workflow, and pricing that respects your P&L.

Our Mission

To give every accounting firm — from solo practitioners to 50-person firms — the technology infrastructure that makes client work effortless, secure, and organized, at a price that makes sense for the industry.

Our Vision

A world where every tax professional can focus entirely on their expertise — advising clients, solving financial problems, growing their firm — and zero minutes on chasing a W-2 or resetting a client's portal password.

Our Values

Six Principles We Build By

Client Adoption First

A portal only creates value if clients use it. Every design decision starts with "will a 70-year-old be able to do this without calling us?" If not, we redesign it.

Security Is Not Optional

SSNs and EINs are permanent. We encrypt at rest, mask in the UI, and audit everything. The FTC Safeguards Rule isn't a checkbox for us; it's an architecture requirement.

Honest Pricing

No module stacking. No annual lock-in. No "contact sales for pricing." What you see on the pricing page is what you pay. We earn your business every month — or you cancel.

Speed to Value

Setup in one day, not six weeks. A tool that takes months to implement is a tool that most firms will never fully adopt. Fast time-to-value is a product requirement, not a marketing claim.

Built-In, Not Bolted On

AI intake extraction isn't an add-on that costs $30/month. It's part of the core platform, built into the document upload flow, tested on real accounting forms. Integration shouldn't mean paying twice.

Support you can audit

Real people answer, on every plan. And when we need to enter your firm to reproduce a problem, the session is time-limited, capability-restricted, recorded, and disclosed to you by email — with a seven-year record you can export yourself. Most vendors offer an unlogged admin account instead.

Our Journey

From Frustration to Platform

Kveldo was not designed in a workshop. It was built to run one accounting practice, used every day by that practice, and only then rebuilt as something other firms could use.

Eighteen months, and every workflow in it earned its place by being needed before it was built.

2025
Built Inside a Working Practice

The client portal, work tracking, document library and deadline calendar are built for one accounting firm and used every day by it — not prototyped for a demo. Every workflow in Kveldo earned its place by being used before it was designed.

Early 2026
Rebuilt as a Platform

What ran one firm is rebuilt as true multi-tenant software: one deployment, many firms, with data, storage, configuration and branding isolation enforced at the data layer itself rather than by application code somebody has to remember to write.

03
Mid 2026
AI Where It Actually Pays

Bank statement conversion and intake extraction ship as core features — not modules, not add-ons. Both are review-then-save: the model suggests, deterministic code does every calculation, and nothing reaches a client record until a person approves it.

The Largest Month, and the Deployment

Roughly four hundred commits in four weeks: e-signature, time and billing, capacity planning, client invoicing, self-serve signup, firm-authored roles and teams, ROI measurement, and the operator console. The test suite goes from a few hundred assertions to 3,729 automated tests running against a real database. The platform goes to production.

Open to Outside Firms

Kveldo opens beyond the practice it was built for — self-serve signup, a fourteen-day trial of the whole platform, and flat pricing published in full on this site rather than quoted on a call.

The Team

Built by Practitioners,
for Practitioners

Our team combines deep accounting industry experience with modern software engineering. We don't build software for accounting firms from the outside looking in — we lived inside these workflows.

Practitioners, not a product committee

The Kveldo team

Kveldo grew out of the software built to run our own accounting practice. Every feature here was written to solve a problem that was costing a real firm real hours — which is why the product argues with you about reconciliation, and why it will not let an AI suggestion become a client record without a person approving it.
